What is the MVL SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) test for?
We currently offer a nasopharyngeal test for SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) RNA diagnostic test. This test is used to detect the presence of the live virus in patients with concern for infection, and is the gold standard for pre-travel clearance.
How will I receive my results?
Results are sent directly to patients along with a copy sent to the ordering provider for all Infectious Diseases (including Covid-19).
Is MVL Covid-19 testing FDA approved?
MVL has submitted Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) of MVL Covid-19 testing to FDA. MVL Covid-19 testing is a Laboratory-developed test performed at a CLIA and CAP certified high-complexity facility.

How soon can we expect to receive the test report?
Once a sample is received, you can expect your test report either the next-day or the same day depending on which service you choose.
Note: “Same day” testing needs to be collected in morning.
If I test on Saturday when can I receive the report?
Samples collected on Saturday will report either later that day or on Sunday, depending on the turn around time selected.
Do you bill Medicare, Medicaid, or commercial insurance?
We do not offer Insurance billing.
I am testing for travel, when should I schedule my test?
Most countries have a 72 hour window of validity on their testing requirements. For this reason we suggest patients come in to test two days before their trip. This gives our staff time to run your test while also ensuring that your results and less than 72 hours old, even if your flight is delayed.
I am testing for travel, do I still need a doctor’s order?
Yes. The state of Oregon requires that all clinical lab testing have a doctor’s order. If your doctor is unable to write you a prescription we have an e-prescription service you may use. Simple select “MVL Prescription Service” and we will pass your information along. This service costs $20.
My doctor will order my test, but I don’t have the paperwork yet? Can I still schedule an appointment?
Yes! When registering for your appointment select “MVL Prescription Service”. Bring your doctor’s prescription to the appointment, we will make a copy and can waive the $20 charge.
